How to handle narative answers that are not graded or scored?
We need to create 6 sets of review questions for learning modules
We have several multiple choice and true/false, plus three questions that require narrative responses. The narrative responses are not graded or scored. How can we create these?

I think you have two possibilities to do this.
The best way would be to use the Save Results Pro addon. This paid addon not only saves the results of each quiz, but also allows you to add a custom form to the start or end of each quiz.
This is important for you, as you could add a custom form that asks your narrative response questions. The user can take the quiz as normal, but then before “completing” the quiz, they would have to fill out the form (your additional, unmarked questions) before being able to see their results. The addon would then save their answers for review, or even email the results to you.
The second-best way is less automated and “integrated”, but may still work well for your needs. And that is to add a custom contact form (I can recommend the free HDForms plugin for this) to the quiz results areas (the quiz pass / fail content). With this method, once a user completes a quiz ⇾ that’s it, the quiz is done.
However, the new form will appear in the quiz results area that the user can then fill out. The downside to this method is that there is no way to force the user to fill out the form once the quiz is complete, but this may not be an issue depending on your use case.

I will need to get client feedback on their needs.
For the Save Results Pro plug-in, is the price a one-time subscription or annual? In either case, it should be affordable. I just needs to be clearly communicated for budget approval.
I’ve considered placing the scored version of each quiz above an Elementor form that captures, saves and distributes the essay questions.

The license grants access to support and updates. So as long as you have an active license, you can request support and download updates to the addon. If you cancel your subscription, then you will still be able to use the addon as normal
