No Results shown when the From placement is after the quiz

closed

Hi,
when the Form placement is after the quiz, no results are shown on the web and I receive no email…
Did I miss something ?

I don’t think there’s anything you did wrong Gilles.

I think it’s a bug with the form being at the end and your specific quiz settings. I’ll try and replicate the bug on my end today and push out a fix ASAP.

Hi,
Whatever the position of the HD form (before or after the quiz), I receive no email after finishing the quiz. Do you think this bug is the reason why I don’t receive email ?
Thank you

Are results being saved, and you’re just not getting an email, or are results not being saved at all?

Results are saved, but no emails.

Emails are almost certainly being sent, so the issue would be with either your site or DNS configuration.

HD Quiz uses WordPress’ native wp_mail function to send emails and uses your site’s mailserver.

Things to look at:

Under the addon settings => email tab, make sure the “Sent From Email” is an email address that belongs to the domain. For example, if your domain is domain.com, then only emails ending with @domain.com will work as your site only has permission to send emails from itself.

You can also take a look at your DNS settings. This is more advanced so you might need help with this, but you need to make sure that your server is allowed to send emails from your domain.

You seem to be using a third party email provider, so this is certainly a possibility. You’ll want to make sure that your SPF, and DMARC records are correct, and looking at your current SPF record, it doesn’t look like your server is allowed to send emails from your domain. So contact your site/host support for more help with this.

Other things to look at

You can consider installing an email logger plugin to verify that the addon is correctly sending emails. I am not affiliated with this plugin, but I have used it before:

WP Mail Logging

You can also try connecting your site through a third party router such as MailGun, and then using WP Mail SMTP to force all emails sent by your site to use this third party.
