I understood my license to be a one time fee. Quiz Styler is not updating anymore, yet my license is active. What gives?

Hi Brian, your server is probably blocking the zip.
You can always download the latest version from your account page.
I did download. But it’s not a zip file it’s a directory and files. WP is looking for a zip file to install.
It is 100% a standard zip file.
What I think is happening to you is that whatever browser you are using is automatically unzipping for you after it downloads.
Apple’s Safari, for example, is infamous for this.
You have two options.
The first is to stop the browser from automatically unzipping the file.
The second is to re-zip after the fact.
If using Safari uncheck Open “safe” files after downloading in Safari’s Preferences -> General.
If using Chrome, enable Disable Auto-Open for Downloads settings.
If you are unable or unwilling to stop this behaviour, you can always zip the folder up yourself. All major operating systems have native support for this and can usually be accessed by right clicking a folder and selecting Compress, although the exact wording might change depending ion your system
