Question Featured Audio?

You have two options.

First, you can wait one or two weeks, and the next version of HD Quiz will have this built in.

Second, if you don’t want to wait, I can send you some custom code that you can add to your theme that will extend HD Quiz to be able to add custom embed content (such as video or audio).

The only thing to note about this is that different types of embeddable media will look differently depending on your theme (especially with responsive design – desktop -> mobile). If your theme uses custom styling for things like embedded audio, there is really nothing I can do to force things to play nice, so we just have to hope!

I’ll start with the bad news.

I decided against adding this to HD Quiz. The potential problems that certain themes could have with styling embeddable content (IE: Audio, Video) is just too great, and I’m worried I’ll get a flood of support requests to fix a problem I didn’t cause.

HOWEVER – I also have some great news!

I created a super simple and light-weight, FREE addon that you (or anyone else reading this) can download to add this functionality in.

This addon does two things.

First, it adds a new field to the Question Edit page Extra tab called “Featured Media”. You can place any content you want here, including audio and video (note: especially for video, I strongly recommend against upload the video to your site. Video is expensive. Use a third party like YouTube instead).

Second, the addon will check to see if you have any content in this new field and display it on the quiz below the question title and feature image, but above the answers.
