It could just be that something is stopping your server from actually downloading the file.
You can always login and go to your account page here to download the latest version.

Getting a message “There is a new version of HD Quiz – Save Results Pro available. View version 1.6.8 details. Automatic update is unavailable for this plugin.
Please renew your license to update.”
I am only 4 months into my year license.
