Different weights for answers to a question ?
Hi Dylan,
With a personality quiz, is it possible to attribute 2 different weights to 2 answers to a given question (say answer#1=+1 and answer#2=+0.5 ?
I don’t see scores so far with my quiz… Maybe I missed something…
Thank you
Hi Giles,
the feature you are looking for is called weighted answers – and it’s been in development for years. The good news is that it will be in the next major release of HD Quiz (no idea when it will officially release though – so much testing and UI work needs to be done).
If you are interested, use the contact form at the bottom of harmonicdesign.ca to contact me and I can send you a beta version with the feature sometime next week.
As for “I don’t see scores so far with my quiz”. Looking at your site, I only see Personality type quizzes. These quizzes are not scored, so you cannot see X/Y or X% or anything like that. Just the relevant result that you got.
Thanks a lot. Yes I use Personality quizzes but thought scores could apply too. I will stick to the current version.
Thank you again.
Hi Dylan, coming back to this question. Do you mean that there is no possibility in the beta version to attribute a score in Personality quizzes ? Thank you
The beta version allows for weighted answers for both types of quizzes (as in Answer A might be worth 1 point, Answer B worth 3 points, and Answer C worth -1 point). It does not “score” personality-type quizzes – at least in the traditional sense.
Before I get into it: can you define what you mean by a score for personalty quizzes?
The way it works is your quiz has a set amount of “outcomes”. For example, you could get:
- Harry
- Hermione
- Ron
And each answer assigns a value to one of those possible outcomes. When the quiz completes, the outcome with the highest score is chosen as the result.
So by “scored” do you mean something like “you are 80% Harry, 70% Ron, and 30% Hermione”?
Thank you. Yes something like “you are 80% Harry, 70% Ron, and 30% Hermione” (in my case, two are enough a major and a secondary profil). Ideally, by cliking on 80% Harry or 70% Ron in the results, I could get the description of Harry or Ron characters.
Hope this is clear.
of course I guess this can be done without having different weights in the same answer…
