license is not clear until checkout. It makes you look deceptive though I am sure you are not

I just want to state as plainly as possible: It is absolutely not my intent to hide anything or to be deceptive in any way. I strive very much for the opposite.
Now, with that out of the way, I want to address your concern. I’ll reconsider the copy under the License tab for the product pages to make it more clear that licenses only exist for a year, unless they are renewed.
But I’d also like to point out that no customer has ever expressed concern or confusion at the recurring billing so far. I think this is because of how clear it is on the cart page itself.
For example, the very top of the cart page has a highlighted callout section that states:
You can cancel a subscription at anytime and retain use of your plugins.
Without an active license, you will no longer receive plugin updates or support, but can continue to use the plugin as normal.
The products in the cart themselves clearly state “billed every year”.
And finally, all users must click on and agree to the Terms Of Service (which forces the TOS to show), and states:
If your purchase includes a recurring payment, you can contact Harmonic Design at any time to request a cancellation of your license. Once canceled, your license will become invalid after the current payment period expires.
So as you can see, it is very much not my intent to “slip that past [you]”. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t do better! So thank you for taking the time to reach out with your concern.

I was considering buying your pro results plugin and still might. I hate building websites for clients and getting them into endless annual subscriptions but that is the way the WP game is played these days. I get it. I was pleasantly surprised to see than under “License” it did NOT indicate that the payment was annual. It says:
“The purchase of this plugin includes a direct link to download the latest version available, as well as a license to use the plugin with a single website. A license key will be provided for you to activate the plugin on your website. You will also receive free updates and support for this plugin for as long as your license is active.”
No mention of annual billing, though that last line implies.. Still I am trained to scan for the word “annual”. Then you go to pay and see at checkout “billed every year”. If it is not your intent to slip that past us, you should make it more clear in the license verbiage.
